Seek purpose, find contentment; and jewel it with joy.
That’s my stoic mantra; live by it and change your life.
Another is not to follow your passion, or at least to proceed with caution. I see posts on this often and they forget to say passion will fade.
Best to find something you are tolerably good at and become an expert. That’s what will become your passion.
You’ll have heard me say I have the best job in the world, yet below are a dozen careers I might have had, if I had gone through different sliding doors.
Some are more likely than others, but all except two were possible (l was never a very good footballer).
1) lawyer
2) civil engineer
3) priest
4) novelist
5) politician
6) after dinner speaker
7) lead singer
8) architect
9) professional footballer
10) restaurateur
11) industrial waste magnate
12) academic
I started this at 35 and have one more in me, as l do like to write.
What about you?
