Tomorrow I have a big birthday… 🥳.
How big?
Shhhhhh, big enough…

Scottish Bard Robert Burns was here speaking of matters of the heart, in a letter to Dr. John Moore of Mauchline:
“Sometimes I was crowned with success and sometimes mortified in defeat.”
That’s life, too…
You are here, having won the lottery, and have surely experienced the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, as another Bard said.
But what a ride…
I am the luckiest man who ever lived (and an optimist 😉). No one soooooo imperfect is entitled to have had such good fortune.
The images below try to give a flavour of my more than six decades here.
They’re happy ones…
But take it from someone who’s reached the forgettable age of 62: don’t chase happiness.
Happiness will find you in unexpected ways; it ensues from purpose, so pursuit of it is looking for the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
Don’t be forever chasing…
Don’t wait for it either, though, because some of those pics conceal the hardest of times. Can you guess why a middle aged man might be lying on a single bed with his 80 year old dad?
Happiness- or contentment and mindfullness as I prefer to cry it- is now.
Life is now…🔥
Today is the day…🔥
This is the moment…🔥
This year has been KWC Global’s best ever numbers-wise, but my most challenging for a while. Outside work has had its desperate moments, too.
That’s just life, though…
It would be naive to be surprised or disappointed by those hard yards; they’re the price we pay for that winning ticket.
And.
They’re what make us…
Accept the things you canny change, have a pop at changing the things you can, and know the difference.
As yet another poet said…
My perspective can be described in this single sentence…👇
Seek purpose, find contentment; and jewel it with joy.
And finally, thank you to sooooo many folk: family, friends, the team, clients, staff at CQ Holborn, the train manager who sorted me in Birmingham last week when l stooooopidly boarded the Euston express.
But mostly to Sharon, Matt and Hannah ❤️*.
For everything. There are, for once, no words.
You are a joy… mostly 😉.
“When you arise in the morning think what a precious privilege it is to be alive; to think, to breathe, to enjoy, to love.”
Marcus Aurelius.
